You can easily copy and still all text content from page that does not have a protection. So scrapers can automaticaly open your website, copy blog articles or product descriptions and paste them to their sites. This is how you can loss your SEO rankings and even get penalty from Google.

This text is protected, some words are replaced with the images, but your visitors will not see the difference. You can't just copy all text from this page, because it has been converted in images. So, when scrapers copy your page content, they don't copy text, they copy images code something like (15625, 0l0-0.9921875l1.21875-0.078125l0.15625-2.1796875l1.109375, 0l0,).
It's possible to set different % of protection level (e.g. 60% of the text will be protected). Goolge and other search engines will see the original text (not images) so its not going to hurt your SEO rankings.
Just try to open this page source code and see the protected text yourself. The only one way you can still it is to rewrite manualy!
