== Changelog ==

= 3.0 =
* Version numbers are now shared with our Joomla component, which is also at 3.0. Both products are developed together and get the same features at the same time, so from now on the same number means the same functionality. Nothing is missing between 2.7.1 and 3.0.
* The connector file siteguarding_tools.php is now kept up to date automatically and is never replaced with an older version. Previously the plugin copied its own bundled copy over the file in your website root every time the Security Panel page was opened, which could roll back a newer connector the panel had just installed.
* The connector is now checked against siteguarding.com once a month in the background, and repaired immediately if it is missing or damaged. Downloads are verified before anything is written, and a file that fails verification is discarded instead of being installed.
* Added a "Connector file" status panel on the Security Panel page: the version installed in your website root, the version shipped with the plugin, the recovery copy, and when the next automatic check is due - with a "Check now" button for an immediate check.
* The recovery copy in the webanalyze folder is now selected by version instead of by file size, so a newer but smaller connector is no longer ignored.
* Updated the bundled connector file to version 2.6.
* The Security Panel no longer shows a red error when the connector on your site is simply newer than the one on our server - that is a normal result, not a failure.

= 2.7.1 =
* UI fix: the on/off toggle switches on the Settings & Tools page displayed incorrectly (the knob detached from its track and overlapped the text). A generic field-label style was collapsing the switch; switch/checkbox labels are now excluded from that rule and the switch track is hardened so it can never collapse.

= 2.7.0 =
* Brand-new admin interface: modern, professional design inspired by leading website-security platforms.
* Light and dark themes with a one-click toggle (your choice is remembered).
* Fully responsive, mobile-friendly admin pages.
* Removed the Semantic UI dependency and the external chart library - lighter and faster pages, no icon-font downloads.
* Inline SVG icons and an inline SVG status chart; the new UI needs no jQuery.
* Internal fix: the admin styles and scripts now load reliably — they are enqueued on the proper WordPress hook (previously registered too late to appear in the page head) and a wrong asset handle was corrected.
* PHP 8 compatibility: guarded count()/array access against null values (e.g. on a site that has no license data yet) — previously this could trigger a "critical error" on the Dashboard and Antivirus pages under PHP 8.
* Login protection: fixed a false "invalid username or password" message that appeared right after passing the captcha (the verification now reloads cleanly).
* Login protection: redesigned the verification / error screen (styled and mobile-friendly), distinguished "please retry the captcha" from a service error, and removed debug details that could be shown to visitors.
* Login protection: hardened the captcha form with a one-time signed token, added a tamper-proof verification cookie that prevents redirect loops, and guarded the gate against being loaded twice.
